Plain-language summary: UsageCut is a free developer tool. The scan and the optimizer are free to use. The optimizer changes your local Claude Code config, but it backs everything up first and is fully reversible. The software is provided as-is. The full terms are below.

What UsageCut is

UsageCut is a developer tool by ClockedCode that scans your local Claude Code setup and session history, shows where your token usage is wasted, and can optionally apply optimizations to your configuration. By using UsageCut you agree to these terms.

Free to use

The scan, your report, and the optimizer are currently free. If we introduce paid features in the future, the price will be shown clearly before you are asked to pay, and you will never be charged automatically.

Running the optimizer

The optimize command (npx usagecut apply) modifies your local Claude Code configuration - for example, disabling integrations you never use or relocating instructions. Before making any change it creates a backup, and every change can be undone with npx usagecut revert. You run it at your own discretion: review the proposed changes, keep your own backups, and restart Claude Code for changes to take effect. You are responsible for your own environment.

Acceptable use

Use UsageCut only on machines and accounts you control. Do not attempt to disrupt the service or abuse the scan or email endpoints, and do not use the tool to harm others.

No warranty

UsageCut is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the tool will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any token or cost figure is exact - the numbers shown are approximations to help you find waste.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClockedCode and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or disruption to your setup, arising from your use of UsageCut. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the tool, which may be zero.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new last-updated date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
