Privacy

Last updated June 30, 2026.

Short version: the scan runs on your machine. UsageCut never uploads your code, never reads your API keys, and never sends your prompts or conversations anywhere. Only anonymous summary numbers leave your machine, and only to build your report.

What stays on your machine

The scan reads your local Claude Code setup (CLAUDE.md, MCP config, hooks, settings) and your session history to count tokens and find waste. All of this happens locally. Your source code, prompts, conversations, and credentials are never uploaded.

What we collect

To build your report, UsageCut uploads only anonymous aggregate numbers - totals and grades such as tokens per session, the count of unused integrations, and percentages saved. They contain no file paths, no prompts, no code, and nothing that identifies you. They are stored so your report can be viewed at its private link.

Your email

If you choose to enter your email to unlock the optimizer and receive your report, we store your email address and use it to send you your report, your optimization plan, and your results, plus occasional product updates. We will not spam you, and you can unsubscribe from any email we send.

Website analytics

On the UsageCut website we measure how the site is used - pages viewed and basic actions such as running a scan, opening a report, sharing it, or applying the optimizer - so we can see what works and improve it. This product analytics is provided by Vercel and PostHog, and we run it cookie-free: neither stores a cookie or any persistent identifier in your browser, so nothing follows you between visits. These events are tied only to an anonymous identifier for your report - never to your code, your prompts, or your email - and we never use them for advertising.

Service providers

We rely on a few third parties to run UsageCut: Supabase (stores your report data and email), Resend (sends email and holds your contact), Vercel (hosts the site and provides anonymous usage analytics), and PostHog (product analytics for how the website is used). Each processes only what is needed to provide the service.

What we never do

We do not sell your data, do not share your email with advertisers, and do not send your code or conversations anywhere.

Keeping or deleting your data

To request a copy or deletion of your data - your report or your email - email hello@clockedcode.com and we will take care of it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Changes appear here with a new last-updated date.
